A near-death experience in Singapore in 1994 inspired Mr. Curiale to pursue his dreams of a life in concert music, to be able to express his musical soul freely without the limiting parameters of commercial music. He has since released two original CDs on the Orchard Road label, Awakening and The Music Of Life. Recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and Academy of Saint Martin in the Fields, they feature soloists including Doc Severinsen and some of the finest musicians from China and Japan. His music is often showcased on National Public Radio as well as in concert band, marching band, and symphonic performances. Reviewer Kevin Sutton has described Mr. Curiale as “a composer who is serious about his beliefs, deep in his thoughts and emotions…. He says what he means and means what he says, and is refreshingly unabashed about his desire to create beauty, and in his efforts to uplift the human state.” A deeply spiritual man, his works are recognized the world over for their passion, beauty and sense of wonder.
A true Renaissance Man who is creative to the core, Joseph Curiale is an accomplished writer, poet, photographer, artist and educator, whose books The Spirit of Creativity, and The Wisdom of Creativity, are insightful, passionate and inspiring guides to exploring, unlocking and honoring the creative spirit in everyone.
